This program will be an opportunity to hear from a panel of LMU Jewish students who have each engaged in various projects related to food justice over the past year, including a service immersion trip to a Jewish farm cooperative, a Challah for hunger chapter on campus, a campus wide Shabbat dinner focused on Global hunger awareness, and a partnership project between the community garden and a Jewish food bank. These students will have an opportunity to share their experiences and how they have been shaped by both their Jewish values and the Jesuit mission.

I got offered a part in a Christmas movie over the summer. It’s called “Defending Santa” and stars Dean Cain, Jud Tylor and my movie wife, Jodie Sweetin, best known for playing Stephanie on “Full House.” REMOVE
Shmuel Tikvah, a young Nigerian, heard time and time again about the Igbo people, who claim descent from ancient Israelites. Research at an Internet cafe leads him on a quest to find this Nigerian Jewish community, which keeps kosher, lights Shabbat candles and prays in Hebrew.
