The Next Big Thing

Featuring actor Jason Director (Atlantic Theatre Co.‘s An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein), this garage band musical, set in 1983, follows teen musician Chip as he looks for the new sound that will take them to the next level - much to the dismay of Chip’s mom, Melissa - a singer-songwriter from the ‘60s with a checkered past and a belief that good music is more than a simple hook.

Music and lyrics by members of indie band Breech (indie-music.com’s Top 25 CDs of 2007 for “Tarnish and Undress” and winner of the 2003 DIY Album of the Year with its release, “Apron Strings”), with book by Jeff Favre.

KROQ’s Lisa May of the Kevin and Bean Show makes a cameo appearance on Friday nights.

50 Plus
New Old Friends

I've recently become close with Abe and Frank, two older guys in my neighborhood. At 90 and 88 respectively, they’re not the typical age of my other friends. At first I wasn’t sure if it was friendship. Maybe they were just humoring me or passing the time. Why would old people want to be friends with me, a 35-year-old?
