Rabbi Benjamin Segal’sScholar-in-Residence Program

Rabbi Benjamin Segal is bringing his Scholar-in-Residence program to Mishkon Tephilo on Friday night and Shabbat.  Rabbi Segal is the author of a recent translation and commentary of the “Song of Songs”  He will give a talk during Friday evening services, during Shabbat services (beginning at 9:30 AM).  At 5 PM Mishkon Tephilo will host a Seudah Shlishit. Rabbi Segal will give a workshop, and after Havdalah, he will be available to sign copies of his book , The Song of Songs: A Woman in Love. All of Rabbi Segal’s talks will focus on how the “Song of Songs” informs us today about love.
Copies of this book will be available at the event for $30.

New Old Friends

I've recently become close with Abe and Frank, two older guys in my neighborhood. At 90 and 88 respectively, they’re not the typical age of my other friends. At first I wasn’t sure if it was friendship. Maybe they were just humoring me or passing the time. Why would old people want to be friends with me, a 35-year-old?
