Harmony Shabbat with the Maccabeats

Beth Jacob congregation celebrates its first ever “Harmony Shabbat” on Shabbat, March 8-9.

We have invited the acclaimed Maccabeats to daven with us that weekend, to join their a cappella harmonies with the marvelous world class baritone of our own new cantor, Arik, to engage us in song and prayer as we officially welcome Arik and Tehilah Wollheim to our Congregation.

Kabbalat Shabbat services on Friday evening will feature the Maccabeats and Arik in a festive davening that will appeal to everyone. Bring yourselves, your children and grandchildren to Shul and join in the energetic tefillah. Mincha begins at 5:40pm.

On Shabbat morning, our many minyanim will join together as one for a special davening experience in Shapell Sanctuary. Services will start at 8:45 AM. We will be having our Junior Congregation and Teen Minyan participate in the Shabbat morning service so that all generations of Beth Jacob can participate in a harmonious Shabbat davening.

We are planning a beautiful Kiddush on Shabbat following services in Jacob’s Garden where we will be entertained with the songs and harmonies of the Maccabeats while we enjoy food, family and friends.

We encourage all of our members, and their family and friends, to participate in what will truly be a special Shabbat.

50 Plus
New Old Friends

I've recently become close with Abe and Frank, two older guys in my neighborhood. At 90 and 88 respectively, they’re not the typical age of my other friends. At first I wasn’t sure if it was friendship. Maybe they were just humoring me or passing the time. Why would old people want to be friends with me, a 35-year-old?
