Fowler on the Town: From Market to Table: A Persian Jewish Tasting Experience

During this Sunday afternoon off-site tour, mother and daughter Manijeh and Saba Soomekh take participants through the bustling Elat Market, a Persian Jewish food emporium, to learn about special ingredients and recipes used to make Persian Jewish fare. Following the tour, guests will have a brief cooking demonstration followed by a kosher-style Persian food tasting.

For adults and teens ages 13+.
Transportation provided and attendance limited to forty guests.
$20 Fowler members; $25 general.

New Old Friends

I've recently become close with Abe and Frank, two older guys in my neighborhood. At 90 and 88 respectively, they’re not the typical age of my other friends. At first I wasn’t sure if it was friendship. Maybe they were just humoring me or passing the time. Why would old people want to be friends with me, a 35-year-old?
