Fall Prevention and Home-Based Exercises

OPICA’s Chapters in Caregiving series is a great opportunity to talk with noted experts on issues related to memory loss and aging.
This month’s speaker is Rafael A. de Oliveira, M.D., Geriatric Medicine Fellow, UCLA Department of Medicine.  At this session,
learn simple strategies to identify and correct fall dangers and help your loved one avoid the tremendous adverse health impact of a fall.  Also learn simple and effective home exercise strategies that you can do with your loved one to improve their health, particularly balance and mobility.  Free admission, light refreshments. New Old Friends

I've recently become close with Abe and Frank, two older guys in my neighborhood. At 90 and 88 respectively, they’re not the typical age of my other friends. At first I wasn’t sure if it was friendship. Maybe they were just humoring me or passing the time. Why would old people want to be friends with me, a 35-year-old?
