Lectures
American Jewish University’s Graduate Program in Nonprofit Management is holding its annual Spring Colloquium series, open to students, alumni, and the public. The first in the series is on the topic of Funding Approaches – Deciding what to Fund on February 8 from 5:00PM – 6:30PM at AJU’s Familian Campus, 15600 Mulholland Drive in Bel Air in room 307.
Fred Ali, President and CEO of the Weingart Foundation, which offers constructive assistance to people in need, allowing them to lead more satisfying, conscientious lives, will be speaking on the topic of Funding Approaches. Future sessions include Philanthropy’s Role in Strengthening Communities of Color on February 15 and Convergence of Faith and Government on February 29, among others.

Filmmaker Debbie Goodstein has taken to heart the adage, “Write what you know.” Her 1989 Holocaust documentary, “Voices From the Attic,” recounts her mother’s years of hiding in a garret where snow descended through slats in the roof, a baby died and food was scarce.
