A film and panel discussion with Sharon Shenhav, Israeli attorney, Alexandra Leichter, family law attorney, Rabbi Abraham Lieberman, YULA Girls High School
Film: Women Unchained.
Through the lens of the documentary film we will learn the stories of agunot,women who cannot remarry because their husbands refuse to give them a ‘get,’ a Jewish divorce.
Why has the Orthodox community tolerated this abuse and injustice for so long? What is happening in Los Angeles? What are the measures we can take to prevent this problem?

I've recently become close with Abe and Frank, two older guys in my neighborhood. At 90 and 88 respectively, they’re not the typical age of my other friends. At first I wasn’t sure if it was friendship. Maybe they were just humoring me or passing the time. Why would old people want to be friends with me, a 35-year-old?
