Andreas Beckett: UNBUTTONED

“Mega-sex appeal! A fantastically charming honest performance!” hails Valley Scene Magazine. It’s internationally acclaimed Andreas Beckett’s quest to find the meaning of love-one day, and one lady, at a time. From the Bavarian beerhouses of his native Germany to “Manhattan, America” to Hollywood, Beckett unfurls his candid life story with song and dance under the masterful hands of legendary 14-time Emmy Award Winners Mitzie and Ken Welch. “Unforgettable entertainment!” raves Les Spindle of SoCalStages. And Louis Fantasia of NPR/KCRW calls it “one of the warmest, most endearing one-man shows to hit the stage…well worth seeing.” Andreas Beckett’s work includes stage, film, television and opera. He won the Audience Award at the DGA Awards in Los Angeles for his leading role in his first film, Empty, and worked with Robert Zemeckis on Petit. Appearances include Saturday Night Live, CATS, Rigoletto, The Magic Flute, Tosca, and Masterclass. Mitzie & Ken Welch have written/composed/produced TV Specials for Beverly Sills, Bob Hope, Placido Domingo, Ben Vereen, Whoopi Goldberg, Bea Arthur, Carol Burnett, Lucille Ball, Robin Williams, Dudley Moore, Ray Charles, Dolly Parton, Lena Horne, Tony Bennett, Barry Manilow, Cher, & Barbra Streisand, plus seven seasons on The Carol Burnett Show. Choreography by Jordi Caballero (Chris Columbus’ Rent, the Academy Awards, Dancing with the Stars). Musical accompaniment by pianist Mikael Oganez (first prize, Michelstadt Competition).

50 Plus
New Old Friends

I've recently become close with Abe and Frank, two older guys in my neighborhood. At 90 and 88 respectively, they’re not the typical age of my other friends. At first I wasn’t sure if it was friendship. Maybe they were just humoring me or passing the time. Why would old people want to be friends with me, a 35-year-old?
