THROUGH THE EYE OF THE NEEDLE: In 1942, at age fifteen, Esther Nisenthal Krinitz defied Nazi orders and fled her Polish village with her younger sister. They hid in plain sight for the rest of the war under the invented identities of Polish Catholic farmgirls. Decades later, haunted by memories, she turned to needle and thread creating embroidery that captures the pain.
VIOLINS IN WARTIME: The power of music as a symbol of sanity in a time of war is the major theme of this moving documentary. Amnon Weinstein and his son work together making and repairing violins. When the Second Lebanon War breaks out, Amnon struggles to keep his international violin master classes from being cancelled. At the same time, he worries about his son who has been drafted.
Sponsored by Joel Aaronson & The Affordable Living Choices Trust.
