MBA Fall Colloquium

American Jewish University’s Graduate School of Nonprofit Management has announced the Fall 2012 Colloquium Series, with the first speaker being Mishawn L. Nolan, Principal at Stone, Rosenblatt, & Cha Attorneys at Law, who will be discussing “It’s Yours, Keep it – Protecting Intellectual Property.”

Ms. Nolan is a co-chair of the Entertainment, New media and Intellectual Property Section of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association, has been recognized in the San Fernando Valley Business Journal as one of the best lawyers in the San Fernando Valley and as one of the top 40 most important business persons under the age of 40 in the San Fernando Valley. She has also received recognition as a rising star by the Los Angeles Magazine and was featured in a series about lawyers who succeeded against obstacles in the Los Angeles Daily Journal.

This public speaker series is open to students, alumni and the public at no cost. It is held Wednesdays, 5:00PM – 6:30PM at AJU’s Familian Campus, 15600 Mulholland Drive, Room 307 on the entry level, Bel Air. This year’s lineup of speakers is sure to be riveting. Dates and speakers are as follows:

October 24 – Helen Han, Chief Executive Officer of Jr. Chamber of Commerce, will be discussing “Creating a Platform for Community Engagement.”

November 7 – Delia de la Vara, Vice President of the California Region National Council of La Raza, will be discussing “The Human Face of Social and Economic Inequality.”

November 14 – Joel Pugh, MBA, Account Executive of Blackbaud Inc., will be discussing “Technology and Donor Management.”

November 28 – Lamont Roberts, Writer/Director of Great Pharaohs of the 25th Dynasty, will be discussing “Controversy and the Lost Legacy – Black Pharaohs of the 25th Dynasty.”

December 5 – Amelia Xann, Vice President of the Center for Designed Philanthropy, Jewish Community Foundation, will be discussing “Jewish Philanthropy: Motivations, Mitzvahs and Money.”

December 12 – Dora Leong Gallo, Chief Executive Officer of A Community of Friends, will be discussing “Supportive Housing for the Most Vulnerable.”
