Departing from his home, the moon, a wise old man travels with his weathered precious trunk to a world that has forgotten how to laugh. Hoping to extinguish cynicism and judgement and replace it with joy and curiosity, he brings an arsenal of clowns, ignorant to the rules of the world. Together, these clowns must embark on a quest to find that beautiful laugh. Searching through each other and their audience the clowns will discover and examine every avenue of laughter; love, joy, mischief, pain, fear, sadness and more, hoping to find the laugh that they have all been waiting for…That Beautiful Laugh. A Backstage Critic’s Pick and winner of the 2012 Hollywood Fringe Best in Physical Theater Award. Coming fresh off their run of Robin Hood at South Coast Repertory, Four Clowns is back in Long Beach with a family and child friendly show about the joys of laughter.

Award-winning, nationally-touring company Four Clowns presents That Beautiful Laugh, conceived by Orlando Pabotoy and directed by Turner Munch as part of the 2nd annual Long Beach Playhouse collaborative this March. The ensemble delivers an audience-interactive performance as hilarious and touching as only Four Clowns can do.

Four Clowns received the Top of the Fringe Award at the 2011 Hollywood Fringe, besting nearly 200 shows with their adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, and their innaugural show, Four Clowns toured to over ten different cities around the country. Following their recent main stage production of Robin Hood at South Coast Repertory, this highly-anticipated production is an invigorating match for the growing family friendly programming to be offered by Four Clowns. The cast includes Emily Brennick, Julia Davis, Andrew Eiden, Mike Funt, Dave Honigman and Connor Kelly-Eiding.
