A strange tale about a little English girl who doesn’t quite fit. Sneak a peak at an in-progress work by one of the new voices in the L.A. storytelling scene. Be among the first to experience this new solo play by British storyteller, stand-up comic, and actor/playwright Claire Thomasina J. The actress and comedienne, recently moved to Los Angeles, studied at the Bridge Theatre Training Company in London, then went on to work extensively in the theatre in such roles as Helena in Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya and Rosalind in As You Like It. Claire has also written, produced and starred in two short films - Colour Me Beautiful and The Secret Child of Shanti - that were devised entirely from improvisation. They have been screened in London and Dublin. Claire performs regularly as a storyteller in Los Angeles and as a stand up comic at the Hollywood Improv and the Comedy Store. She is also a photographer and believes sharing our own story is one of the most powerful things we can do. Directed by Deana Barone. Barone curates and directs the multi-genre storytelling show: The Trunk Show, tells stories, and does experimental and traditional theatre all around Los Angeles. She is currently developing her own one woman show, The Little Girl and Lalu, as well as a pilot and a screenplay. She also writes for the stage, tutors, edits, dances, and does energy work. Produced by Adventure Goddess Productions. For mature audiences. Reception and silent auction immediately preceding the performance. All proceeds benefit the Santa Monica Playhouse Save the Playhouse Campaign.
