The Circuit: Humanitarian Torch, Schaffner Memorial Lecture, Tashlich in Venice




 

 

 

Joel and Rebecca Mandel received the Humanitarian Torch of Learning Award from American Friends of the Hebrew University (AFHU) during the Bel Air Affaire at the home of Brindell Gottlieb on Sept. 11. The event was co-chaired by Renae Jacobs-Anson and Dr. David Anson, Helen Jacobs-Lepor and Dr. Norman Lepor, with honorary chairs Patricia L. Glaser and Sam Mudie, and Richard S. Ziman, AFHU’s Western Regional board chair.

Sinai Temple’s Rabbi David Wolpe presented the Mark J. Schaffner Memorial Lecture, “How to Help the Spirit Heal No Matter What You Believe,” at City of Hope in Duarte on Sept. 22.

The Vista Inspire Program’s Nes Gadol and HaMercaz observe Tashlich at Washington Street Pier in Venice on Sept. 13.
