![]() With more than 10 years of talk therapy under her belt, Merissa has waded through life’s dilemmas with a constant reflective therapeutic bird on her shoulder. Add a few rabbis, a Buddhist-inspired education, monks, stupas, shrine rooms and the like, stir, and you get a 27 year-old Yenta. (What is a yenta? Click here to find out.) In May of 2008, Merissa graduated with an MFA in Writing and Poetics from Naropa University’s Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics. She also holds a BA with a dual focus in American Culture Studies and Women and Gender Studies from Washington University in St. Louis where she headed their rape prevention initiative. Between November 2009-March 2010 Merissa is a writer-in-residence at the Santa Fe Art Institute and the Norman Mailer Writers Colony. |
