Two brothers were murdered in a drive-by shooting near Jaljulia on Friday, as they made their way home from a family wedding. The men, aged about 30, were shot from short range by people in a passing car, near the petrol station at Horshim interchange in central Israel, as they were on their way to their home in the village of Salaam, near Umm al-Fahm. Also in the car was the wife of one of the victims and her two children, aged one and three, who were not wounded in the shooting. Magen David Adom arrived at the site, near the entrance to Highway 6, and tried unsuccessfully to rehabilitate the men. They were forced to confirm the deaths of both men on the spot.
