Zachary Phillip Eisenberg has donated $1,000 in gift money from his recent bar mitzvah to John Wayne Cancer Institute in Santa Monica, in memory of his late grandfather, philanthropist Juels Eisenberg, who succumbed to cancer three years ago.
Attorney General Bill Lockyer was presented with a community service award by the Anti-Defamation League's Southern California chapter during their Jurisprudence Award Luncheon, held at the Omni Hotel.
Betsy and Harold Applebaum, Pamela and Dennis Beck, Joan and Allan Burns, Carolynne and Ze'ev Drori, Paige and David Glickman, and Amanada and Nick Stonnington were the gala dinner chairs of the 15th annual Music Center Spotlight Awards, hosted by actor John Lithgow and honoring the achievements of public high school students. This year's gala was held at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion of the Music Center of Los Angeles County.
Yitz Novak from the West Coast Region of the National Council for Synagogue Youth, the Orthodox Union's youth organization, presents a personal photo with a letter beginning with the words "It could have been me," to Oregon Sen. Gordon Smith, expressing outrage over suicide bombings in Israel. The picture was presented during the Orthodox Union's recent mission to Washington.

Plenty of Panache
More than 450 guests packed the Skirball Cultural Center for the PROS' A Panache Gala II: Make a Difference, a benefit for The Louis Warschaw Prostate Cancer Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Carmen Warschaw is chair of the PROS steering committee and co-founder of the support group with her late husband, Louis, for whom the Prostate Cancer Center was recently named.
Paul Nussbaum has been installed as vice president and manager of City National Bank's Westside/San Fernando Valley Region. Nussbaum spent the last decade working for Wells Fargo Bank, where he was, most recently, senior vice president and regional com[PHOTO] use image from Marc Ballon's article last week mercial banking manager of its Beverly Hills office. Nussbaum was recently profiled in The Journal when he successfully convinced Wells Fargo executives to reverse their opposition to paying sanctions related to Holocaust reparations.
