Up to 100 critical response vehicles have been deployed in New York Jewish neighborhoods and around synagogues following the terrorist bombing in Bulgaria targeting Israelis.

There are no specific known threats against New York Jewish venues, security officials said.

Wednesday’s explosion outside Sarafovo Airport in Burgas, Bulgaria killed five Israeli tourists, a Bulgarian bus driver and the suspected suicide bomber. More than 30 Israelis were injured. The Israelis had just arrived on a charter flight from Israel.

“It is a tragedy and I met with the Israeli ambassador this morning to get a briefing,” New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said on Thursday, New York 1 TV reported. The police department “is all over it, both in Europe and in Israel and here,” he said.

Police in the city made similar moves in March following the murder of three children and a rabbi by a gunman in Toulouse, France.
