Photo by REUTERS/Jim Hollander/Pool The Israeli government plans to request that an Israeli Supreme Court order to dismantle part of a West Bank settlement be postponed for 90 days. The court has ordered that a neighborhood of the Beit El settlement, north of Jerusalem, be dismantled by May 1. The neighborhood, which contains five structures and is called Ulpana, is built on Palestinian land. But according to Haaretz, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has asked his state’s attorney to request that the decision be delayed for 90 days. Netanyahu hopes to use that time to propose an alternative plan to the court’s decision. |
