More than 1,000 people gathered at the Washington Hebrew Congregation for a religious event to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The event was hosted by the Washington National Cathedral, but could not be held there due to damage from last month’s earthquake. Six religions participated in the commemoration, which included a Unity Walk in which participants visited 13 houses of worship along Embassy Row. The event began with a symbolic Muslim call to prayer from the Washington Hebrew Congregation’s podium, according to the Washington Post. |
